Financial Planning for
Rancho Vista Senior Living

Beyond priceless peace of mind, senior living can be more cost-effective than remaining in your home. We understand that financial considerations are a significant part of this transition, and our goal is to provide clear, reassuring information to help you plan confidently.

How Much Does
Senior Living Cost?

The cost of senior living at Rancho Vista depends on the individual’s needs and required level of care. Before a new resident moves in, we conduct a comprehensive assessment to ensure we tailor our services to provide the best possible support and value.

Our all-inclusive monthly fee typically covers:

  • Housing: Comfortable and secure accommodations
  • Meals: Delicious, chef-prepared meals served daily
  • Care Services: Personalized assistance with daily activities, medication management, and more (based on assessment)
  • Housekeeping: Regular cleaning and linen services
  • Activities & Programs: A vibrant social, recreational, and wellness calendar

Senior Living vs. Homeownership: A Cost Comparison

Many families are surprised to discover that the “all-inclusive” nature of senior living can often be more financially predictable and less burdensome than the ongoing costs of homeownership. When comparing, consider these everyday expenses associated with maintaining a home in Vista:

  • Mortgage or Rent Payments
  • Property Taxes
  • Home Insurance
  • Utilities: Electricity, gas, water, internet, cable, trash removal
  • Home Maintenance & Repairs: Unexpected expenses for plumbing, roofing, appliances, landscaping, etc.
  • Groceries & Meal Preparation
  • Transportation Costs
  • Out-of-Pocket Healthcare Expenses
  • Social & Recreational Activities

At Rancho Vista Senior Living, our comprehensive services help save you time, stress, and often money by consolidating various expenses into one predictable monthly fee. This allows residents to enjoy their golden years without worrying about home upkeep.

Ways to Save on Senior Living Costs

Rancho Vista Senior Living supports affordability through:

  • Veterans Discounts: $100 rent discount for Veterans and spouses.
  • Long-Term Care Insurance: Accepted for Assisted Living and Memory Care. We complete required forms to confirm services provided.
  • Resident Referral Program: $1,000 rent credit, applied 90 days after the resident’s referral moves in.

State Assistance Programs

Our community participates in select state and federal programs that can help reduce the cost of senior living for eligible residents. Programs vary by state and community. Please call us for details and assistance with the application process.

Medi-Cal

We participate in Medi-Cal programs to help eligible residents offset their care costs.

Assisted Living Waiver (ALW)

Our community is an approved provider for the Assisted Living Waiver program. The ALW is a California Medi-Cal Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program that helps eligible seniors and adults with disabilities pay for care services in Assisted Living or Memory Care (room and board not included). The goals of ALW are to:

  • Transition Medi-Cal eligible residents from nursing facilities into a community-based, home-like setting.
  • Prevent institutionalization by providing support for those at risk of needing nursing home care.

Under ALW, participants pay only the current SSI rent amount, and Medi-Cal covers the remainder of approved care services. If you would like to learn more about the ALW program, please visit www.dhcs.ca.gov  or contact us. We will be happy to assist you.

CalAIM

We participate in CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal), which may help eligible residents with additional services.

CalAIM is a statewide initiative designed to make Medi-Cal services more coordinated and accessible, including for seniors who need support in a residential care setting. For eligible residents, CalAIM can provide funding for certain health- and housing-related services—such as personal care assistance, transportation to medical appointments, and care coordination—while living in an Assisted Living or Memory Care community. The goal is to help residents remain in the least restrictive, most home-like environment possible.

Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

We participate in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which may help cover some services for qualifying residents.
